Transcribe podcasts
Upload your episode and get a transcript with speaker labels and timestamps for show notes, captions and a searchable archive.
How it works
- Upload the final mixed episode, or the raw recording if you prefer to work from that.
- Choose the language and start the transcription.
- Fix guest names, product names and anything the audio made ambiguous.
- Export TXT or DOCX for show notes, and SRT or VTT for video clips.
A podcast is a promise to speak clearly for an hour, and a transcript turns that hour into something people can search, skim and quote. Search engines cannot listen to an episode, but they can read the text. Readers who find a show through a quote often become listeners, and listeners who prefer reading can follow along without pressing play.
The practical workflow is short. Upload the finished mix, correct the guest's name and the handful of product or place names the audio cannot spell, and export. The same transcript can supply show notes, a quote for social posts, a block of chapter titles from the timestamps, and an SRT file for the short video clips you cut for promotion.
Keeping it accurate
Spoken shows are full of names, brands and in-jokes that no transcript will guess. Keep a short list of spellings per episode and check them in the editor. A consistent house style for filler words and false starts, applied across every episode, will make the archive read as one voice.
Tips
- Transcribe the finished mix so the text matches what listeners will actually hear.
- Add the guest's name spellings to your notes before editing, so you can correct them quickly.
- Use timestamps to build chapter markers and to pick out pull quotes.
- Publish the transcript on the episode page; it makes the show accessible to listeners who cannot or prefer not to listen.
